LG to Educate Tweens on Mobile Phone Misuse

LG Electronics has announced the launch of a multi-faceted campaign for tweens and teens that is expected to raise awareness regarding mobile phone misuse.

The campaign, “Give It A Ponder,” is a result of extensive and proprietary research that was conducted by LG among tweens and teens.
 
In the U.S., teens amount to almost 20,000 texts per second and LG found that teens do not have enough knowledge to discern if their actions will have harmful effects or not.
 
The comprehensive and long term initiative will specifically tackle risky mobile behavior.
 
For example, LG has named a specific group as “tabloid teens” which generally belong to a certain social strata and are more exposed to such behavior. It also found that most teens who were interviewed considered behaviors like sending text messages and other undesirable content as part of teen life.

“As the leading manufacturer of texting devices, LG is committed to creating a credible and impact program that promotes responsible mobile phone use among young adults,” said Ehtisham Rabbani, vice president of product strategy and marketing at LG Mobile Phones.
