HP’s webOS-based PalmPad may spoil support for Microsoft

HP is likely to play spoil sport for Microsoft as it plans to launch three webOS-based tablets at the Consumer Electronics Show, the venue that Microsoft has chosen to showcase its Windows 7 and Windows 8 based tablets.

HP will release three versions of PalmPad that will run on webOS juice, version 2.5.1. It further reported that the fourth tablet mainly crafted for university students will not be showcased at the CES event. (more…)

Windows Phone 7 OS sale get to 1.5 million

Microsoft has reported that there sales of its Windows Phone 7 mobile operating system have reached 1.5 million within six weeks of its release. Microsoft UK’s project chief, said that its operating system meant to make things easier for there users.

However, Berg confesses Microsoft was only “comfortable” with WP7′s progress, saying its performance was similar to other first generation mobile platforms. He said, “We’re in the race – it’s not a sprint but we are certainly gain in momentum and we’re in it for the long run.” He added (more…)

Nokia Prep “Green” Editions of N8 and C7 Handsets

Nokia announced today that it is in the process of releasing new, “green” editions of its C7 and N8 smartphones, featuring reduced packaging, efficient power supplies, and a collection of environment-related apps.

The phones themselves aren’t getting any changes as part of this eco-effort. To the company’s credit, both are already engineered from relatively earth-friendly materials. Instead, Nokia’s cutting back on packaging for the phones, using “just enough to protect the devices in transit.” (more…)

The design is typical E Series models with full-QWERTY keyboard: well-knit shell, rather than wide (57 mm) and 2.36 inch screen with QVGA resolution (320 x 240 pixels). Samsung Galaxy S Android 2.2 Upgrade Delayed in U.K.

Samsung Galaxy S owners in the United States and the U.K. where upgrades to the Android 2.2 Froyo build have been delayed until November. Froyo upgrades have not been announced in the United States.

Samsung issued this press release Oct. 14 stating that Android 2.2 would be rolling out in mid-October.

Android 2.2 will be available via Samsung’s Kies software upgrade program for the Verizon Wireless Samsung Fascinate, AT&T Samsung Captivate, Sprint Samsung Epic 4G and T-Mobile Samsung Vibrant handsets, all of which were launched with Android 2.1 this past summer. (more…)

T-Mobile myTouch HD Documents reveal

T-Mobile G2 might be the first Android-based handset to sport HSPA+ connectivity, but it seems that T-Mobile’s has stretched its area wider and that the unannounced T-Mobile myTouch HD would be a dual-core handset to include such capabilities. In addition to running under Google’s Android 2.2 operating system, the upcoming T-Mobile myTouch HD is expected to include support for the carrier’s HSPA+ network and to pack a dual-core processor inside, at least this is what recently leaked documents on it show.
